Yup! It’s time to see me in action – a real behind the scenes during a real newborn session!
First of all, I have to thank Haline Ly for the trust in me to cuddle her precious baby James for 3 hours, during his newborn photography session. Secondly – she pulled out her camera and captured great shots of me doing my magic. It was really exciting for me to be able to see myself behind my lens.
If you haven’t visited my “about” page, here is some more info about me:
My name is Elly and I’m a premier Sydney Maternity and Newborn photographer. I specialize in pregnancy, baby and family photography and also, I’m a member of Professional Photography Association and the International Newborn Photographers Association. My newborn photography journey has started 3 years ago and since then, it has become my passion and obsession. I just love to cuddle all those precious babies and to create amazing art for their families. And I continue learning and growing every single day and do everything I can to improve my skills. As a professional photographer, I strive for the best composition, lighting, posing, but as a mum myself, baby safety is more important. I make sure that every baby is completely secure during the session, my studio is of course fully insured and I am vaccinated. In other words- your newest addition is in safe hands.
But the most important thing about my job is love. Because I fall in love with each cute newborn I see. Do you really want to know why I love my job? Because I have the pleasure of cuddling and snuggling these sweet infants. Oh, they are so gorgeous and innocent and smell like nothing else. See some of my moments in the photos below.
Pregnancy photography is the time when I try to document the beauty of a pregnant woman. As Ruth Morgan says: “Pregnant women! They had that weird frisson, an aura of magic that combined awkwardly with an earthy sense of duty. Mundane, because they were nothing unique on the suburban streets; ethereal because their attention was ever somewhere else. Whatever you said was trivial. And they had that preciousness which they imposed wherever they went, compelling attention, constantly reminding you that they carried the future inside, its contours already drawn, but veiled, private, an inner secret.” You can browse through my maternity blog posts and see for yourself how beautiful my pregnant clients are.
But my photography journey doesn’t stop there – after the newborn session, I meet again with some of my clients – for a milestone session ( a sitter or 1-year old shoot ) or a family one. These moments of joy, of happiness and love, are my challenge to preserve forever.
