I love doing family photography in Sydney. Because of the special connections that I capture between the family members.
Sometimes it is hard to choose a location because Sydney offers a great variety of beautiful places. I always ask the family if they have a favourite location in mind, but if they don’t I always suggest some nice spots.
With Stephen’s family, we chose Gunners barracks in Mosman. This fantastic spot has a special meaning to this family, as Stephen and his gorgeous wife got married there. This place has some fantastic views over Sydney harbour.
Stephen’s little son – Jonathan was the center of attention the whole session. And who could have blamed me for that – little Jonathan is so cute! I wanted to squeeze those chubby cheeks the whole session.
It was a beautiful sunny end of the day, and I had some gorgeous light to work with as well as great models! Oh, Sydney’s sky is full of colours, especially during sunset.
Jonathan is a wonderful boy. He played all the time and we all had a lot of fun. My family photo sessions are a combination of posed and lifestyle shots – I want my clients to remember how they were on that particular day, especially families with such young kids. These sessions are not always “ perfect” in terms of posing and this is exactly how I want them to be. I capture the raw everyday life and connections between parents and their kids.
Jonathan was trying to make his first steps with the help of his mom. He was having such a good time.
